○ 13Queen of Cups
What this card is
She sits on a throne at the water's edge holding an elaborate lidded cup, gazing at it rather than out at us. Of all the court cups she is the most inward: she feels everything and does not spill it. The card describes deep empathy, intuition treated as real evidence, and the ability to hold someone else's difficulty without drowning in it. That closed lid matters, because she knows the difference between her feelings and everybody else's.
